This is a review of Aldo’s final set of lecture notes. For those that don’t know, Aldo passed away in February. The material in the lecture notes is hard-hitting and well within the grasp of most magicians. What doesn’t come across in the notes is how engaging and funny he was. I had the privilege of being in attendance at a SAM club meeting where he performed all of the material from these lecture notes. It was the only time I met him and he was passionate about magic and just having a wonderful time. Everyone left more emotionally uplifted than when they went in. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rachel and the entire Colombini family. Now on to the review…

This is vintage Colombini. Deck is shuffled and people can choose any configuration from both face down and face up cards. Your prediction matches their choices.

This is a Roy Walton trick based on an earlier trick by Alex Elmsley called “Dazed”. I was very sick while shooting this trick and still had a fever. Need proof? “Citrus Holiday!?!” WTF! I rest my case.

Rachel came up with this one based on an idea from Edwin Hooper. In the demo I could have (and should have) shown the face of the card to the camera. Both the face and back can be shown to be free of guile. Rachel is quite a clever girl.

This is based on an idea from Peter Duffie. When Aldo performed this one I remember thinking, “this ‘feels’ like a Peter Duffie-type effect”. Damn I’m good.
